Kollin’s Business Biography
Kollin started his career at Stagnito Communications selling media and marketing programs for the company’s largest brand. Over the next 16 years, while responsible for East Coast, West Coast and Midwest territories, he was promoted to Associate Publisher, Publisher and VP / Group Publisher. The company was sold in 2007.
Next, Kollin served as Chief Operating Officer for Stagnito Business Information, a private equity-backed business information services company serving retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies in North America. He completed and integrated 6 acquisitions and 7 new product launches between 2008 and 2016 – growing the company’s capabilities and revenue significantly. This rapid growth enabled the transformation of Stagnito from its roots as a media business to its ultimate configuration as a business information company delivering content, research, analysis and insights to its customers. Kollin led the process to sell the business to a private equity firm in 2016.
Currently, Kollin is Vice President, Publications at AOPA. AOPA is the world’s largest community of pilots and largest brand in aviation. AOPA promotes the freedom of flight through world-class media, aviation products and services, and advocacy. He is responsible for the daily oversight of AOPA’s print media and associated web properties including AOPA Pilot and Flight Training.
Kollin graduated from Brown University (Providence, RI) with a BA in Business Economics.
